Johari Osei
PhD candidate
Arizona State University
Johari Osei is a doctoral researcher and historian at Arizona State University. Her work focuses on Black resistance and radical political movements, with particular attention to the forms of labor that make liberation possible but are often overlooked. She is interested in how people organize under pressure, how power operates in everyday life, and how historical narratives are shaped by what is remembered and what is erased. Johari approaches scholarship as a practice that would invite reflection, accountability, and conversation beyond the university.
